BLACKPINK Announces Upcoming Collaboration With Selena Gomez

A perfect blend of East meets West – is what everything this dream collaboration is going to be. It has officially been confirmed that the mystery artist to feature on BLACKPINK’s latest single is none other than Selena Gomez.

 

The highly anticipated single is all set to drop on various music sites globally on August 28 at 12 AM EST and 1 PM KST. While the details surrounding the track are still under wraps, the poster of the same gives off a dynamic and playful vibe with its melted chocolate syrup on a pink background and pop art-like typography aesthetic. 

Speaking about the collaboration, an official from YG said, “We are very happy to confirm that the dream of two artists who shared musical rapport with each other as long-time fans has finally come to pass.”

This is the third powerhouse collaboration between BLACKPINK and a fellow stellar artist. BLACKPINK packed a punch with their delectable duet with Lady Gaga on “Sour Candy” that achieved the top spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart in May. Prior to this, in 2018, the super girl group featured on Dua Lipa’s “Kiss and Make Up” that ranked at No. 36 in the UK Official Singles Chart Top 100.

Furthermore, BLACKPINK has recently stunned fans and established their popularity as global artists with the fierce number “How You Like That” that smashed several charts including the Spotify Global Top 50 Chart, the UK Official Singles Chart and the US Billboard Hot 100 chart respectively.

Besides this, the music video for the same recorded 86.3 million views on the first day, and was officially listed in a total of 5 categories in Guinness World Records and successfully achieved the shortest record in billions of views. 

Meanwhile, the spectacular collab between Blackpink and Selena Gomez will serve as the second official single from the spectacular girl group’s forthcoming debut full-length Blackpink: The Album.
