BLACKPINK’s Rosé celebrates Women’s day by celebrating visionary women in music!
Get ready to groove to some awesome tunes BLINKS as BLACKPINK’s Rosé was the only Korean artist to participate in curating a special playlist exclusively on Apple Music in honor of International Women’s Day.
According to the agency YG Entertainment, the songstress organized a playlist titled Visionary Women on Apple Music. On the same, Rosé recommended 25 striking songs.
In a note attached to the playlist, the BLACKPINK member averred as to why she chose these particular numbers. The note read as, “Lovesick, heartbroken, head-over-heels out of control—BLACKPINK singer ROSÉ knows every shade of emotion when it comes to matters of the heart. For this exclusive International Women’s Day playlist, the New Zealand-born K-pop artist assembled a lush, moody set of tunes that folds in all those big feelings.
One track that helps set the tone early on is Amy Winehouse’s classic torch song “Love Is a Losing Game”. “Saddest song ever,” ROSÉ tells Apple Music. “It hurts my heart every time I hear it. I think that being able to be vulnerable is the most independent thing someone can be at times, and I commend her for her honesty and transparency in this song. We can all relate to her, and that’s why we all love her.” But don’t let the heartbreak linger too long—there are plenty of upbeat jams to dance to as well.”
Besides this, BLACKPINK has been helmed as ‘Women In Music That Have Made an Impact in Global Entertainment’ by Variety in a feature that was unveiled ahead of Women’s Day.
BLACKPINK has solidified their position as a world-class superstar group despite not being able to tour overseas due to the COVID-19 crisis, thereby proving that their popularity is indeed limitless.
Meanwhile, Rosé will be revealing her first solo single album titled R on March 12, 2 PM KST. YG introduced the upcoming release as, “The album’s name R, which is also the first letter of Rosé’s name, represents another meaning of the beginning of her first steps as a solo artist.”
