BTS, MONSTA X, BLACKPINK & More Nominated For MTV Video Music Awards

MTV HAS REVEALED A STELLAR LINE-UP OF NOMINATIONS FOR ITS VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS AND SOME OF K-POP’S FAVORITE ARTISTS HAVE BEEN NOMINATED TO SNAG THE MOON PERSON FOR THEMSELVES!

The MTV Video Music Awards are back and with a grand list of nominees. Among other ace global musicians, the roster features many of K-Pop’s amazing artists (some, in multiple categories, even!), including a chance to win the coveted Moon Person.

BTS

This septet has been reigning over not just hearts but on charts with their smashing hits! It comes as no surprise, therefore, that BTS is paving the way on this year’s nominations The group has been nominated in not one, not two, but five categories. In addition to “Best K-Pop”, the multifaceted idols are also in contention for “Song of the Year” for “Dynamite” and “Best Pop”, “Best Choreography”, and “Best Editing” for “Butter”.

MONSTA X

If you don’t know, now you know just why MONSTA X is the definition of being a powerhouse group in every sense of the term! The talented sextet has been going ‘beastmode’ and dominating the K-Pop scene with their versatility and marvelous musical style. And it is no different with their recent release, “GAMBLER” from their latest comeback album One Of A Kind, that earned them a spot on this year’s list of MTV VMAs’ nominees in the “Best K-Pop” category.

BLACKPINK

BLACKPINK has been claiming record after striking record with their grand discography. The captivating quartet is on their way to attain yet another fabulous feat. The brilliant girl group has been nominated with their chillin’ number “Ice Cream”. The cool collaboration track with Selena Gomez undeniably raised the heat with its unique style which resulted in the stunning girl group in the running to claim the Moon Person!

(G)I-DLE

This sensational girl group has been surpassing expectations with their eclectic musical style. (G)I-DLE embodies the essence of girl power which is reflective in their overall concept. The group’s summery number “DUMDi DUMDi” earned much acclaim for its kaleidoscopic look and vibrant feel which resulted in a nomination for the “Best K-Pop” category.

SEVENTEEN

Ever since their debut, this bedazzling boy group has steadily impressed fans with their distinctive sounds and show-stopping visuals. And, the MTV VMAs certainly see them for that! SEVENTEEN is all set to achieve a ‘home run’ as the group gets ready to compete to come up at the top in the “Best K-Pop” category with their dreamy music video for the track “Ready to love”.

TWICE

They may be “Alcohol-Free” but TWICE certainly left viewers tipsy with excitement as they revealed a breezy music video for the lead track of their recently released comeback album Taste of Love. The beloved girl group unquestionably looked like visions to behold in the video. The colorful clip truly made the “whole world bright and sunny”, to say the least.

Meanwhile, the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards will air live from New York’s Barclays Center. It will broadcast on September 12 at 8 PM ET. Fans can vote for their faves for the awards HERE.
