MAMAMOO’s Whee In recently released her second mini-album WHEE on January 16 and is already proving her power as a soloist by ranking first in 18 countries and regions across the globe on the iTunes Top Albums Chart.
The album took the lead on the charts in Brazil, Brunei, Costa Rica, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Mexico, Peru, Philippines, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey and Vietnam.
In addition to that, Whee In solidified her position as an ace artist as her release recorded the Top 10 in 6 overseas countries and regions, including ranking at No. 2 in Colombia, and Bahrain, No. 4 in Denmark, No. 6 in Cambodia, No. 7 in Ireland, at No. 8 in and Canada.
Furthermore, the title song of the album “Make Me Happy” topped the iTunes Top Song Charts in 8 countries and regions around the world, including in Bahrain, Brazil, Chile, Indonesia, Peru, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore, immediately after its release, showcasing that Whee In is a vocal queen in every sense of the term.
The lead track is also one that has been worked on by many famous producers such as Ravi, Sido, and Sam Klempner. “Make Me Happy” is a song characterized by an addictive hook, an up-tempo beat, and a heavy bass. Moreover, it features dreamy lyrics that express the feeling of going back and forth between boundaries that seem to reach and touch the heart somehow.
Meanwhile, the MAMAMOO member’s latest comeback WHEE arrives after about 9 months since the release of her debut album Redd in April this year.
