Hashtag, fact check MONSTA X is the best, best and their stellar achievements prove just that!
MONSTA X is taking over the world as they prove their global growth starting with their presence on the Billboard year-end charts. The group’s full-length all-English album ALL ABOUT LUV that released in February of this year debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart dated February 29, 2020. In addition, it also featured on Billboard’s 50 Best Albums of 2020 as well as Hot 100, Artist 100, Social 50, Top Current Album Sales, and Top Album Sales charts.
Recently, MONSTA X was further included in “The Best K-Pop Moments Of 2020” by Teen Vogue. In the feature culture writer Erica Gerald Mason averred that in the music video, “The visuals play with the crew’s bad-boy reputation by paying homage to Hitman: Agent 47, The Dark Knight, The Silence of the Lambs, American Psycho, Fight Club, and Drive. In these uncertain times, the world needs more MONSTA X choreography: Nobody does body rolls like MONSTA X — that’s a fact, just like the sky is blue and the sun never fails to burn hot”.
Next, the magazine Dazed selected MONSTA X’s level A track “FANTASIA” as one of the “The 40 best K-pop songs of 2020”. The feature stated that “Between the video’s black and gold opulence and restrained chaos of “FANTASIA”’s chorus, MONSTA X hammer out the big moves and bigger beats they’re beloved for”.
Earlier, MONSTA X’s spectacular release ALL ABOUT LUV was lauded by TIME Magazine under “The Songs and Albums That Defined K-Pop’s Monumental Year in 2020” and on PopCrush’s “25 Best Albums of 2020”. Moreover, in June, the multitalented powerhouse group was the only K-Pop act to participate in Time magazine’s event ‘TIME100 Talks’ as well.
Additionally, on Tumblr’s “Year in Review 2020” MONSTA X ranked at the 8th spot in the ‘2020’s Top K-Pop Groups’ category. All of the six members Shownu, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Jooheon, I.M were listed on the ‘2020’s Top K-Pop Stars’ category as well.
In Japan as well, the group led the charts with their sweet single “Wish on the same sky” that released in April. During the time of its release, the track swept away the highest ranks on prominent music charts, including Tower Records. The group took the top spot and placed at number one on the Top K-Pop Singles Top 10 Chart for Tower Records mid-year count.
Besides this, the rooftop version performance video of the group’s dynamic and dazzling track “HERO” of their mini-album RUSH exceeded 100 million views on YouTube in March.
Not only overseas but also domestically, the group continued their ascent as ace artists. With their title track “FANTASIA” from their mini-album FANTASIA X that released in May, the group showed a powerful performance unique to them.
MONSTA X further redefined versatility with their sizzling lead song “Love Killa” of their 3rd regular album FATAL LOVE and showcased a more mature style as well as impressed with their wide range of musical spectra. Soon after their comeback, MONSTA X won two crowns on SBS MTV’s THE SHOW and on MBC’s every1’s Show Champion.
They recently made history and won their very first Daesang for the “Stage of the Year” award at the 2020 Asia Artist Awards. MONSTA X reiterated their global powerhouse status after topping Hanteo Chart’s Global Chart for November for FATAL LOVE.
Moreover, MONSTA X won the award for “Best Performance” at the 2020 MMA awards and also the award for the “Best Stage” at the recent 2020 MAMA awards. The bedazzling boy group achieved the “Artist of the Year” at the 2020 The Fact Music Awards as well
