MONSTA X reigned yet again like the true kings they are and this time with their album ALL ABOUT LUV!
MONSTA X certainly mean it when they say “it don’t matter, we do it better”, as this latest feat has proved just the same. Their much-loved album ALL ABOUT LUV has been featured on the list of TIME Magazine’s “The Songs and Albums That Defined K-Pop’s Monumental Year in 2020” and on PopCrush’s “25 Best Albums of 2020”.
TIME magazine said, “ALL ABOUT LOVE made headlines at the time of its release for being the first all-English album from a K-pop group in more than a decade, the project isn’t just notable for its linguistic direction.” Adding that “Better known for their aggressive, anthemic bangers, the members of MONSTA X here unleash a soft and sensual side as they teasingly sing some of K-pop’s most suggestive lyrics”. The magazine also applauded rappers Joohoney and I.M for showcasing their vocal prowess on the versatile album.
PopCrush had further included the album in their “25 Best Albums Of 2020” list. They wrote, “When you hear the name “MONSTA X,” you might think about the group’s masculine aura and bass-thumping music. However, the K-pop group takes it down a notch and reveals a softer and more sensual side with their first English album, ALL ABOUT LUV”.
ALL ABOUT LUV is the first full English album released by MONSTA X earlier this year. The release garnered a lot of acclaims including in TIME Magazine’s “Best Song of the Week” list. It was also praised by Rolling Stone, Variety, and People to name a few.
Furthermore, the album had also debuted at number 5 on the US Billboard 200 dated February 29, 2020. In addition, it is also featured on Billboard’s 50 Best Albums of 2020 as well as Hot 100, Artist 100, Social 50, Top Current Album Sales, and Top Album Sales charts.
Additionally, MONSTA X also became the only K-Pop act to perform at TIME magazine’s event ‘TIME100 Talks’, for both, the opening and closing stages.
Their domestic activities have also captured the hearts of their fans. With the title track “FANTASIA” from their mini-album FANTASIA X that released in May, the group showed a powerful performance unique to them.
Recently, with their comeback with the track “Love Killa” from their third full-length album FATAL LOVE MONSTA X proved that they are own the title of ‘global scene stealers’ after ranking first on the monthly global chart of the Hanteo Chart after winning two music shows soon after making their comeback.
The dynamic boy group donned the crown as the kings of the stage as they won their very first Daesang for the “Stage of the Year” award at the 2020 Asia Artist Awards. They won the award for “Best Performance” at the 2020 MMA awards and also the award for the “Best Stage” at the recent 2020 MAMA awards.
Meanwhile, in addition to these impressive feats, MONSTA X achieved the “Artist of the Year” at the 2020 The Fact Music Awards as well.
