Wonho Tops Japan’s Oricon Weekly Albums Chart With “Love Synonym”


Wonho is proving his mettle as a powerhouse artist as evident with his stellar performance on multiple music charts across the world. The singer released his debut album Love Synonym (#1) Right for Me on September 4 and has since dominated global music charts and has continued to reign on top of the charts into the 3rd week of September as well.


Recently, according to Japan’s Oricon Chart, Wonho’s debut album Love Synonym (#1) Right for Me took the first place in the September 3-week weekly album rankings compiled from September 7 to September 13.

In addition to this feat, Hanteo Chart revealed its weekly global chart for the third week of September compiled from September 14 to September 20. The chart disclosed that Wonho’s first mini-album ranked at No. 1 on the global chart this week.


Love Synonym (#1) Right for Me had the highest certification rate in the United States. It was followed by high certification rates in Japan, Australia, Hong Kong, France, Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan, Britain and Canada as well. During its first week since its release, the vocalist’s first mini-album recorded 83,540 copies in sales. On September 18, it surpassed the accumulated sales record of 100,000 copies. 

Wonho’s debut album showcased a remarkable performance on the global iTunes charts. The album ranked first on the Worldwide iTunes Albums chart in multiple countries including U.S, UK, India, Germany, France, Canada, Australia and Brazil with his debut album within a day of release.


It also placed at No. 1 in 20 countries around the world, including the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Switzerland, Italy and Canada on the iTunes Top K-POP Albums Chart and 10 other regions including Taiwan, Vietnam, Singapore, Mexico, Japan, and Hong Kong.

Moreover, Love Synonym #1: Right for Me entered six Billboard charts recently. Wonho’s heart racing track “Open Mind,” ranked at No. 4 on the World Digital Song Sales Chart. Additionally, the mini-album ranked ninth on the Billboard’s World Albums chart.


It also entered the Heatseekers Chart at No. 19, Album Sales Chart at No. 81, placed at No. 28 on the Emerging Artists Chart, and ranked at No. 51 on the Current Album Sales Chart, thereby showcasing its global popularity.

Meanwhile, Wonho is planning to meet his beloved Wenees around the world through an exciting event! The singer is gearing up to hold his first solo concert WONHO SPECIAL LIVE #IWONHOYOU that will take place on LiveXLive on September 27 12 PM KST. The ace artist will be showcasing new performances as well as cover songs. Fans will also be able to enjoy exclusive behind-the-scenes and documentary type videos among various other fun contents.
